Do
I need Internet access to use the MiWatcher?
No.
The MiWatcher uses a standard telephone line.
Are
MiWatcher images black & white or color?
The
images are transmitted in color. The Miwatcher II has a built-in
color camera and either black & white or color cameras can
be used in the MiWatcher III.
Can
I hear and see what is happening at the camera site?
The
MiWatcher transmits video only.
Do
I need to have a PC at both ends like a web cam in order to use
the MiWatcher?
No.
A PC is needed at the viewing end only. If the MiWatcher I
is used at the viewing site, no PC is required at all. The MiWatcher
I is not yet available.
Can
the MiWatcher be programmed to start recording only under specific
circumstances?
Yes,
this can be done by attaching a sensor to the alarm/sensor input.
Is
the MiWatcher weatherproof and can it be used outside?
No.
The units themselves should never be used outside unprotected.
You can install the MiWatcher II in a weatherproof housing or
set it up indoors next to a window. You can use weatherproof cameras
with the MiWatcher III if you need to have a camera outdoors.
Do
I need a separate phone line for the MiWatcher or can I use the
main phone line?
You
can use the main phone line or you can use a separate/dedicated
phone line.
Will
individuals within view of the camera know when I am watching
from another location?
No.
Not if you use a separate phone line.
Is
everything I need included in the MiWatcher or will I need to
purchase additional parts in order to use it?
The
MiWatcher II is complete with all the accessories you will need
except for a PC.
Can
the MiWatcher be used at any time of the day or night?
It
can be used as long as there is enough light for the cameras.
How
far can the images be sent? Is the image quality dependent on
the distance?
The
MiWatcher can be used anywhere in the world as long as a standard
telephone line is available. Distance does not affect the image
quality.
Do
I need two MiWatcher units? One at the camera site and one at
the viewing site?
No.
One MiWatcher unit is all you need.
What
are the transmitted images like?
They
are JPEG images. You get one image every 2.5 to 10 seconds depending
on the resolution setting.
